I think everybody is glad that 2020 is over, but when it started we all had big hopes and wishes for it. We celebrated the beginning at a concert in the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden in Cape Town.
My travels started with a quick trip in January to visit family. January is winter time in Germany, but it was relatively warm and green. The winter sun made for some stunning views, especially with shots taken against the sun.

Work then propelled me to Nairobi for meetings at the United Nations Environmental Programme offices. Unfortunately, I had only time for a walk through the Forest and visit to the Village Mall on Saturday before heading to Accra for a workshop. I added some holiday and travelled up north to the Mole National Park, which is famous for its herds of elephants.

I was just back home in time before the lockdown started. I was lucky to be able to continue working from home during lockdown, which came with its own challenges and quirks.
Travel during this time was mainly restricted to my garden, which became an object for enhancing my photography skills.
See a selection of these in my Photo Album "Garden in Lockdown" [https://korneliusr.wixsite.com/garden-in-lockdown].
Despite the new lockdown restrictions, we managed to get away for new year celebration, but more about that in the next blog.
